Youth entrepreneurship plays a significant role in the growth of the Greek economy, as an increasing number of startups introduce innovative ideas to the market and create new jobs. At the same time, the Greek startup ecosystem continues to grow steadily, with more teams investing in extroversion and sustainable business development.
Within this context, the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation and its founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, creator and owner of the easy family of brands (www.easygroup.com.gr), announced the launch of the Youth Entrepreneurship Awards 2026. The initiative returns for its 17th year, rewarding young entrepreneurs who build innovative and dynamic businesses with a meaningful impact on the national economy. The institution, which for over 17 years has been a benchmark for the Greek startup community, continues to evolve, reflecting the dynamism of the new generation of entrepreneurs.
The Awards have served as a launchpad for dozens of successful companies that have distinguished themselves in Greece and abroad, such as Ferryhopper, Cinobo, Ancient Greek Sandals, Enaleia, Vendora, Sun of a Beach, and others. From 2008 until today, the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation has contributed over €2,000,000, actively supporting the growth of the Greek economy and job creation.
One prize, three winners
For 2026, the Youth Entrepreneurship Awards will grant a total cash prize of €300,000 to three young entrepreneurs. The first winner will receive €150,000, the second €100,000, and the third €50,000, aimed at further developing their businesses, creating new jobs, and strengthening their international outreach.
Applicants must be up to 34 years old (born in 1992 or later), have founded a company in Greece within the last 5 years (registered in 2021 or later), with a minimum annual turnover of €100,000, and employ at least 3 people. Eligible companies must be corporate entities (IKE, EPE, or SA), excluding partnerships and sole proprietorships, and applicants must own more than 50% of their company. Previous applicants may reapply if they meet the criteria, while former winners are excluded. Applicants of any nationality are eligible, provided their company is registered and taxed in Greece.
The application period began on April 30, 2026, and will close on July 6, 2026, while the award ceremony will take place on September 3, 2026, at the Stelios Foundation Conference Hall in Plaka, in the presence of representatives from the business and institutional community.
Institutional support adding value
This year, the Youth Entrepreneurship Awards are institutionally supported by Elevate Greece, the national registry and support mechanism for Greek startups. This support builds on last year’s recognition of companies within the Elevate Greece ecosystem and contributes to broader outreach and participation within the startup community, as well as supporting the evaluation process. The involvement of Elevate Greece further strengthens the institutional character of the awards, highlighting the importance of supporting entrepreneurship at a national level.
Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou stated:
“The Youth Entrepreneurship Awards continue to highlight outstanding young entrepreneurs who create real value and jobs in Greece. It is particularly encouraging to see the level of applications rising every year, reflecting the progress of the Greek startup scene.”
The application process opened on April 30 and will close on July 6, 2026. Applications are submitted online via the Foundation’s website: https://steliosfoundation.gr/
