WHO recommendations on treatments and vaccine candidates for Ebola

Everything began at Milan Malpensa airport early in the morning, when two passengers arriving from Uganda landed. They showed symptoms consistent with an Ebola infection and were immediately isolated. They were transferred to hospital and underwent a series of tests to rule out various viruses, including Ebola.

According to La Stampa, the individuals include a 39-year-old man with fever, nausea and vomiting, and a 33-year-old woman with 39°C fever, chills, confusion and vomiting. They are part of a larger group of 11 people split into two families: one living in Lurate Caccivio and the other in the nearby municipality of Bulgarograsso. The group also includes a one-year-old girl who tested positive for malaria.

Test results for the Ebola virus are expected today.
