Clear weather will prevail across most of the country today, Wednesday, with high temperatures reaching 33–34°C in some areas, according to the forecast of the Greek National Meteorological Service (EMY). However, during the warmest hours of the day, temporary cloud development is expected over mainland regions, bringing local showers and rain, mainly in mountainous areas, while isolated thunderstorms may occur in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. At the same time, weather conditions are expected to change in western Greece from tonight, with rain and thunderstorms forecast in the northern Ionian Sea and Epirus, signaling the deterioration expected on Thursday.
Winds will blow from southerly directions at 3 to 5 Beaufort, and locally up to 6 Beaufort in the Aegean.
Temperatures will reach 28–31°C in most regions and locally 33–34°C in eastern mainland areas.
MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: Generally fair, with a few clouds becoming temporarily denser during midday and afternoon hours, mainly over mountainous areas where local showers or rain are expected. Isolated thunderstorms may also develop in the mountains of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
Winds: Southerly 2–4 Beaufort, locally up to 5 Beaufort in eastern coastal areas.
Temperature: From 15°C to 30°C, locally 32–33°C in Central Macedonia. Minimum temperatures in Western Macedonia will be 2–4°C lower.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN CENTRAL GREECE, WESTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Generally fair with local cloudiness, mainly over central and northern mainland mountainous areas during midday and afternoon hours, when local showers or rain are expected.
Late at night and overnight, increased cloud cover with rain and isolated thunderstorms is forecast for the northern Ionian Sea and Epirus.
Winds: Southerly 3–4 Beaufort, locally 5 Beaufort over the Ionian.
Temperature: From 16°C to 30°C, locally 31°C. In inland Epirus, temperatures will be 2–4°C lower.
THESSALY, EASTERN CENTRAL GREECE, EUBOEA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Generally fair with temporary cloud development during midday and afternoon hours.
Winds: Westerly 3–4 Beaufort, locally 5–6 Beaufort in central and southern areas.
Temperature: From 15°C to 31–32°C, locally 33–34°C in Thessaly and Eastern Central Greece.
CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: Generally fair with temporary cloud increases over the mountains of Crete during midday and afternoon hours, where brief local showers may occur.

Winds will be northwesterly 3–5 Beaufort, while in eastern regions they will remain southerly with the same intensity until midday.
