The members of the PASOK shadow government who will confront ministers and promote sectoral policy positions were recently announced from Charilaou Trikoupi.
By decision of PASOK, eight policy coordination circles are being established, bringing together senior party officials, MPs, and members of the Enlargement Committee.
According to the announcement, these groups include leading party figures, members of the Council of Europe delegations, and members of parliamentary committees on foreign affairs and security policy.
Alongside parliamentary representative Pavlos Geroulanos, former Economy Minister Filippos Sachinidis, Milena Apostolaki, and Paris Koukoulooulos are taking responsibility for the Economy sector. Foreign policy matters are assigned to former Prime Minister George Papandreou, Michalis Katrinis, Dimitris Mantzos, Nikos Farantouris from the PASOK–KINAL Eurodelegation, and international affairs expert Stelios Perrakis. Anna Diamantopoulou leads the Development sector, while Giannis Maniatis and Manolis Christodoulakis oversee Environment and Energy. Pavlos Christidis and Lefteris Karakimakis are responsible for the welfare state portfolio.

Mission of the coordination groups
According to the announcement, their role is to:
- systematically monitor, evaluate, and critically assess government policy
- develop and refine PASOK’s programmatic positions
- coordinate parliamentary, political, and social initiatives
- mobilize party forces at both central and regional levels
The political coordination groups will work with the heads of PASOK’s parliamentary working sectors, party bodies, and executives, aiming to create a unified political strategy, strengthen the party’s social presence, and design initiatives that connect its programme more directly with citizens’ needs and concerns.
