Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that he had “a very positive conversation” with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, praising their willingness to work in the coming weeks toward ending the war.
Zelensky described the exchange as “a very positive discussion” in a Telegram post, made after returning to Kyiv from London, where he met with the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
“I am grateful for their readiness to work as actively as possible in the coming weeks to give diplomacy a boost with the aim of ending Russia’s war against Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president noted to Witkoff and Kushner that he understands international attention is currently focused largely on Iran, but emphasized that “our shared goal of peace in Europe remains on the agenda.”
He also said he discussed the possibility of talks at the upcoming G7 summit in the French resort town of Évian and thanked the United States for its “positive assessment of Ukraine’s positions.”
