On Monday, June 29, 2026, the Divine Liturgy was held at the Patriarchal Church on the occasion of the feast of the First-Ranked Apostles Peter and Paul, presided over by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
Also in attendance were the Metropolitans of Myra Chrysostomos and Ankara Gregory, Bishop Gregory of Abydos, clergy, monks from Mount Athos, as well as numerous faithful.
After the dismissal, the Athonite monks presented His All-Holiness with fragments of holy relics of recently canonized saints by the Holy and Sacred Synod: Dionysios of Vatopedi (of Kolitsou), Petronios the Prodromite (of Dikaios), and Niphon Ionescu the Prodromite, who lived on Mount Athos.
It was also announced that on the eve of the feast, during the Great Vespers, Metropolitan Gregory of Ankara presided as Protosyncellus.
On both days, fragments of the Holy Relic of Saint Apostle Peter—offered in 2019 by the late Pope Francis to the Church of Constantinople—were displayed for veneration by the faithful.
