Next Thursday, the bill of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security entitled “Strengthening occupational insurance: more opportunities for employees and businesses, expanding supplementary retirement savings options” will be introduced for consideration by the competent parliamentary committee.
The bill, which was tabled in Parliament on the evening of Monday, July 27, 2026, provides for:
a) the establishment of specific and uniform provisions governing occupational pension benefit schemes offered by Occupational Insurance Funds (hereinafter: OIFs) and insurance companies,
b) the introduction of a standard voluntary group occupational pension insurance product entitled “Group Occupational Pension Insurance Product” (hereinafter: GOPIP),
c) the regulation of matters relating to the registration, development, distribution, and supervision of the Group Occupational Pension Insurance Product, and
d) amendments to Law 5078/2023 (Government Gazette A’ 211) concerning Occupational Insurance Funds.
