Unknown individuals vandalized the Chapel of the Transfiguration of the Savior in the Municipality of Saronikos.

According to photos released by the municipality, the vandals overturned chairs, knocked over basil plants decorating the chapel, and caused damage inside the sanctuary, including throwing religious icons in front of the Holy Altar.

Statement from the Municipality of Saronikos

“There are no words to describe the disrespect and pettiness of those who vandalized the Chapel of the Transfiguration of the Savior.

It is a place of faith, remembrance, and special significance for our local community, especially during these days.

The Municipality is already in contact with the competent authorities to investigate the incident and identify those responsible. At the same time, we will immediately proceed with all necessary actions to restore the damage.
