The 46-year-old suspect was brought to the Evelpidon Courthouse shortly before 11:00 a.m. to give her statement on the charge of involvement in the arson attack on the Marfin bank. She returned to Greece a few days ago following the completion of extradition proceedings by the British authorities.

Her lawyer has said that she maintains her innocence and denies any involvement in the incident. Kostas Papadakis has stressed that photographs of the suspect had been examined in the past.

Once the proceedings are completed, the investigating judge and prosecutor will decide on her further criminal treatment—specifically, whether she will be released, potentially subject to restrictive conditions, or whether she will be remanded in pretrial detention.

She Denies the Charges

The suspect denies the allegations against her, with her defense arguing that there is no evidence conclusively establishing that she was present near the bank at the time of the attack.

More specifically, her lawyer maintains that there is no forensic finding confirming that the person in question is his client.

At the same time, according to the lawyer, the relevant report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations does not conclude with absolute certainty that the woman was at the specific location.

Meanwhile, the two 42-year-old men accused of being accomplices in the same case have already been placed in pretrial detention.

One is being held at Malandrino Prison, while the other has been transferred to Nafplio Prison.
