Striking footage was recorded on Saturday, August 8, at the Corinth Canal, featuring the luxury superyacht BLUE II. As it transited the exceptionally narrow waterway, the nearly 56-meter vessel appeared to encounter difficulties and repeatedly came into contact with the canal walls.
The incident was captured on video by Michalis Papamanolakis for the Korinthognosia channel. The footage shows the BLUE II passing with only minimal clearance from the canal’s embankments and, as it continues its passage, striking them at more than one point.
The images are all the more remarkable given the yacht’s specifications and estimated value.
The BLUE II is nearly 56 meters long and, according to specialized yachting industry databases, is valued at approximately US$50 million.
