Diddy Combs has been added to the witness list for the trial concerning the murder of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur. Prosecutors linked the once-powerful music industry figure to Duane “Keffe D” Davis, who is sitting in the dock as the defendant.
Diddy himself occupied that same position, though facing different charges, around a year ago. He is currently serving a fifty-month prison sentence after being found guilty of sex-trafficking.

The trial over Tupac’s murder began today, Tuesday 18 August, with Davis standing accused over the death of Shakur. Prosecutors presented the 63-year-old as the man who, although he did not pull the trigger, planned and ordered the killing in retaliation for the beating of his nephew a few hours earlier.
Davis is charged with murder, with the aim of promoting, furthering or assisting a criminal gang, as prosecutors attempt to prove that he played a role in organising the attack.
Tupac was just 25 years old when he was shot inside the car he was travelling in on 7 September 1996. The rapper was in Las Vegas to watch a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand. A few hours later, a white Cadillac pulled up alongside the car he was riding in and its occupants opened fire. Tupac succumbed to his injuries six days later.
