“The first time I went to Greece I was seven months pregnant with Rocco, I took him back there now as a grown man, it felt like closing a circle”, Madonna wrote on Instagram.
The Queen of Pop continues to share material from her Greek holiday, which included a celebration of her 68th birthday in Corfu and a trip to Meteora. After sharing video and photos from her birthday party in Corfu, complete with music, dancing and traditional food, she has now posted images of spiritual devotion.
The singer, who during her three-day stay on the island also visited the Cave of the Apocalypse, was photographed inside a church with her hair covered by a headscarf. She lit candles and was pictured beside the psalter, holding a church book in her hands, with icons of the Virgin Mary visible in the background.
Clearly moved by the island where St John wrote The Apocalypse, Madonna wrote on Instagram: “Prayers from Patmos! What a magical island. I truly felt the presence of God there. The first time I went to Greece I was seven months pregnant with Rocco. It felt like closing a circle, taking him back there now as a grown man. It’s good for the soul.”
