Temperatures remain at high levels for the season, with the mercury reaching 39°C in some parts of the mainland today, while the meltemi winds persist in the Aegean, reaching up to 7 Beaufort. The weather will generally be clear across most of the country; however, temporary cloud cover will develop over the mainland during the hottest hours of the day, with local rain or showers in mountainous areas and a possibility of isolated thunderstorms in the north.
In Attica, temperatures will reach 38°C, while a slight easing of the heat is expected in the east from Thursday, as northerly winds will also strengthen.
MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: Generally clear in Thrace. In Macedonia, partly cloudy skies, temporarily increasing, with passing showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous areas.
Winds: Variable, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the east easterly to northeasterly winds up to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 20 to 36°C, and locally in Central Macedonia 37 to 38°C.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN CENTRAL GREECE, WESTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Generally clear, with temporary cloud cover during the midday and afternoon hours, mainly in mountainous areas, where local rain or showers are possible.
Winds: Northwest, 3 to 4 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 24 to 36°C, and on the mainland up to 38°C. In inland Epirus, the minimum temperature will be 2 to 4°C lower.
THESSALY, EASTERN CENTRAL GREECE, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Generally clear, with temporary cloud cover over the mainland during the midday and afternoon hours, when local rain or showers are possible in mountainous areas.
Winds: Northerly to northeasterly, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the east up to 5 to 6 Beaufort until the afternoon.
Temperature: From 24 to 38°C, locally reaching 39°C.
CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: Generally clear.
Winds: Northerly, 5 to 6, locally 7 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 25 to 31°C, and in Crete up to 34 to 35°C.
EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANESE
Weather: Generally clear.
Winds: Northerly, 5 to 6, locally 7 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 26 to 36°C, locally 37°C.
ATTICA
Weather: Generally clear, with a few temporary clouds during the midday and afternoon hours.
Winds: Northerly to northeasterly, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the east up to 5 to 6 Beaufort until the afternoon.
Temperature: From 25 to 38°C. Along the coast, the maximum temperature will be 2 to 3°C lower.
THESSALONIKI
Weather: Partly cloudy, temporarily increasing, with passing showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous areas.
Winds: Variable, 2 to 4 Beaufort, and during the midday and afternoon hours from southerly directions with the same intensity.
Temperature: From 23 to 35°C.

Generally clear weather, with temporary cloud cover initially in the Ionian and during the midday and afternoon hours over the mainland, mainly in mountainous areas, where local rain or showers will occur, while isolated thunderstorms may also develop in the mountains of Eastern Macedonia.
Visibility may be locally reduced in the west during the morning hours.
Winds in the west will initially be variable, 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually becoming northwesterly at 4 to 6 Beaufort, locally 7 Beaufort in the northern Ionian, while in the east they will be northerly at 3 to 5 Beaufort and locally 6 Beaufort in the Aegean.
Temperatures will not change significantly and will reach 37 to 38°C, locally 39°C, on the mainland, and 34 to 36°C in the islands.

Temperatures will fall slightly further in the east and rise slightly in the west.
