Iran is retaliating for today’s strikes by the United States, launching missile and drone attacks against American interests in the Middle East, according to a report tonight by the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim.
According to Tasnim, a “decisive operation” has been launched by the Iranian armed forces against “the American enemy”, in retaliation for the fresh wave of US strikes near the Strait of Hormuz. US bases and interests in the region are reported to be in the sights of Iranian missiles and drones.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump issued fresh threats against Iran. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said that if the failed nation of Iran retaliated against this fully justified attack, it would face new strikes far harsher and on a higher level, though not the largest attack of all. Speaking to Fox News, he also warned that Iran could be wiped out entirely if the war continued.
BREAKING: President Trump tells @TreyYingst that if Iran responds to the latest U.S. strikes, it will face a much stronger military response, warning the country could be "totally wiped out" if the conflict escalates further.

Trump’s full post on Truth Social read:
“The United States, right now, is striking Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes are extensive and powerful, and are retaliation for Iran’s failed attempt to lay mines in the Strait, which currently contains no mines (they have all been removed or destroyed!), as well as for the launch of eight missiles by Iran, all of which were successfully shot down, at our military base in Jordan. If the failed nation of Iran retaliates for this fully justified attack, it will face new strikes far harsher and on a higher level, but it will not be the biggest attack of all; that is already in the works, and when it is finished, very little will remain of the Islamic Republic of Iran!”
