A major operation is underway by the Financial Crimes Division in areas of Attica to dismantle a criminal organization that allegedly defrauded e-EFKA through companies set up in the names of “front men.”
The presenter and LAOS president Filippos Kampouris and his wife are alleged to be among the organization’s leaders and are included among those arrested.
According to information available so far, the organization had allegedly been operating since 2021. Its members would set up companies using “front men,” without subsequently paying the insurance contributions they owed to e-EFKA.
When the debts accumulated, the companies would be shut down and the outstanding amounts would remain unpaid. The total loss to the social security agency is estimated to exceed €1.5 million.
So far, eight people have been arrested, including accountants, businesspeople and “front men.”
The investigation is ongoing.
