US President Donald Trump was asked about Kimberly Guilfoyle and her removal from the post of US ambassador to Greece during an interview with Newsmax on Thursday evening.
The American president said he was “disappointed and surprised” by what he had read about Guilfoyle. Asked whether he would consider granting her a pardon, he replied: “I don’t want to think about that.”
Trump’s comments came after the interviewer suggested that Guilfoyle, who has now left her post as US ambassador to Greece, could face legal troubles and asked whether he would consider pardoning her.

“I don’t want to think about that. I was disappointed by what I read. I haven’t spoken to her,” Trump initially replied.
He went on to say of Guilfoyle: “I’ve known her for years. She was married to Gavin Newsom. I didn’t know her that well,” making no reference to her relationship with Donald Trump Jr., the president’s son.
“What was interesting was that she did a good job in Greece as ambassador, which is why I’m disappointed,” he added.
“She is capable, but when I read what they were writing, I was surprised and disappointed,” Trump concluded.
