The newly conserved paintings of Theofilos return to Mytilene

Theophilos Museum in Mytilene now meets all requirements and is ready to welcome back the works of the great folk artist.
Tomorrow Wednesday, May 7, 40 of the 51 newly conserved paintings of the great folk artist Theofilos will return to Mytilene from Athens.
The other 11 works will remain in the conservation laboratories of the Ministry of Culture, as they have suffered considerable damages (due to fungal diseases and microorganisms), according to the report of the team of conservators, and require special attention. These works will be returned to the museum in late summer.
Theophilos Museum in Varia, Mytilene, after repairing and modernizing its heating and lighting systems with funds from the NSRF program, now meets all requirements and can protect the paintings from any future damages caused by bad indoor environmental conditions.
