Chaos continues to prevail on the Aegean island of Lesbos where 17,000 refugees are stranded without the proper amenities to house them. Daily episodes are now commonplace with refugees complaining that their registration is slow. Local authorities blame former migrant policy minister Tasia Christodoulopoulou for the mess that the caretaker government is trying to handle after its buildup following months of inertia. While Christodoulopoulou is on the government’s election ballot, the island of Lesbos is suffering huge problems as a result of her failed governance.
Migrants set fires from their makeshift shelters at Cara Tepe all the way to the town center, whereas a fire at the forest region of Tsamakia concerned the island’s fire brigade.
