Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday congratulated SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras for his victory in the national elections.

In an official telegram of the Kremlin, the Russian president said he “hopes to continue the constructive dialogue and beneficial cooperation” with Athens.

Moscow wants to “strengthen the Russian-Greek cooperation which is beneficial for both sides in many areas, particularly trade, economy, energy and humanitarian (sector)”, stressed Kremlin’s telegram.
