“If the symptoms of political paralysis prevail, then elections in autumn might be inevitable” said the former president of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises Daskalopoulos, speaking last night at a cultural event at the Gennadius Library.
Mr. Daskalopoulos also said that elections “might be a healthier way out” provided that there will be conducted in terms of programming controversy. Because, as he explained, if during the election campaign we see some following the motto “Give everything to the people” and others “We have money”, then the post-election course will be downhill and painful regardless of the election result.
Commenting on the government reshuffle, he expressed his “growing concern” by saying that the government reshuffle indicates a perception and some trends that are dangerous both for economy and politics: a trend of restricting the incomplete reforms that have been made and delaying those that have to be made.
Mr. Daskalopoulos also announced yesterday the establishment of investment capital (in which he will be the main factor) aiming at a long-term investment in small businesses. According to information, the original capital will be at least 150 million and the first five to six companies of which part of the share capital the fund will redeem have already been selected.
