Crude oil and gold prices down

A rise in the US dollar had an adverse effect on gold contracts in the markets as they dropped by 0.7 pct to 1,124.80 per ounce. Crude oil also took a hit dropping by 1.8m pct to 45.83 dollars a barrel.
