German insurer Allianz Global Wealth released its report on per capita assets around the world. Average Swiss households at 157,450 euros ($176,736) remained the richest in the world, though it was found that equality was rising. The Swiss were well ahead of the United States where average household assets were at $138,710, followed by the UK at 86,230 euros from 10th place last year.

Other wealthy Europeans were the Belgians (84,770 euros), Swedish (82,920 euros) and Dutch (78,060 euros). Cash-strapped Greeks with average net household incomes at 11,645 euros were the poorest of West Europeans.

The poorest country in the world, excluding African nations, was Kazakhstan where the net per capita assets were at 406 euros.

The report highlighted inequality growth in the wealthiest countries, including Switzerland, whereas the USA was dubbed the “Unequal States of America” because the concentration of wealth has grown faster there than in other countries.
