Tycoons’ weddings: A new profitable industry for Mykonos

The wedding ceremony and parties cost about 2 million euros

Newsroom October 3 04:00

The most profitable investment today in Greece seems to be wedding ceremonies of rich people from around the world.

Many tycoons choose Greece, and especially Greece’s islands, to get married and organize their wedding party.

A weeding that is hard to forget is the one between Leonidas Fotinopoulos and Tamara Zein from Lebanon which cost 5 million euro and took place in Vouliagmeni, Attika.

Following their example, another tycoon couple chose Greece and particularly the famous island of Mykonos to get married.

The Indian couple, Aditya Parekh, son of Indian banker Deepak Parekh, and Mallika Tarkas organized everything down to the smallest detail. The couple’s parents even traveled twice to Mykonos to taste the food that their 180 guests would enjoy. The wedding ceremony and the wedding parties were organized by Backstage Productions (P) Ltd. / The Wedding Design Company which sent about 30 employees to Mykonos to have everything ready.

The dominant colors of the decoration were blue and yellow, since Indian gods are represented with blue color, while yellow represents the sun. Many religious worship sun as a fertility deity.

Aditya Parekh and Mallika Tarkas love Mykonos since they both have enjoyed several summers in the beautiful beaches and the famous clubs of the island.

The celebrations lasted two days and took place in famous and luxury restaurants in Mykonos. The setting was inspired by ancient and modern Greece, while girls with ancient costumes gave gilded wreaths to the ladies, while tulips dominated the place. The guests also enjoyed a Greek night, with Greek dances and songs.
