A group of 44 travel and tourism professors from Slovakia visited the island during September 26-18. They discussed with the island’s municipality the “possibility of a new cooperation in regards to school tourism”.

The event, which followed an earlier trip of selected journalists and tour operators from Slovakia, was organized by the Municipality of Ios in cooperation with MTC GROUP in an effort to promote Ios to new markets abroad.

During their stay on the island, the professors were introduced to Ios and its local products.

“In the framework of the group’s visit we explored the possibility of a new cooperation in regards to school tourism with the support of the municipality,” said the chairman of the island’s tourism board, Angela Fakou.
