Feverish preparations are underway for the official two-day visit by French President Francois Hollande in Athens who will arrive tomorrow at 4:50 pm.
Although Mr. Hollande is official invited by President of Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras expects to gain a lot in political and communicative level.
The French President supported him at July’s negotiations and in presence of German Chancellor Angela Merkel he told European Parliament that EU had abandoned Greece and that they should review Greece’s debt.
According to government sources, the themes to be discussed will include the implementation of the agreement and the outstanding issues related to it, such as the upcoming discussion on Greek debt and the recapitalization of the banks.
Mr. Hollande will be accompanied by French ministers and 70 businessmen.
Also, there would be heavy security measures with approximately 2,500 police officers on duty during the two-day visit.
The roads along which the French president will pass will be closed several hours before, whereas all points along the route will be thoroughly searched by bomb squad personnel.
Also, police in civilian clothing will be standing at all the areas that Hollande will visit and police helicopters will be constantly flying overhead.
