The Greek Superleague clash between Panathinaikos F.C. and Olympiacos F.C. at the Panathinaikos Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium on Saturday is the “derby of the eternal enemies” with rivalry that goes back decades.

There was strong police presence at the match with episodes noted outside the stadium, and a flare striking Olympiacos player Alfred Finnbogason and slightly injuring Luka Milivojevic of Panathinaikos.

The game is set to take place despite the fact that there were delays due to the episodes outside. An announcement on the loudspeaker said that the slightest disruption in the stadium would cause penalties for Panathinaikos, playing at its home turf. Afterwards it was decided that the game would not take place due to the high risk that episodes would reoccur.
