Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos hailed the positive contribution that Greeks living abroad have made to the promotion of the country’s major objectives, in a statement released on Tuesday on the occasion of the Christmas holidays and the New Year.

“The active and distinct presence in the countries where you live contributes greatly to the promotion of the major objectives of Hellenism, primarily our national rights, at a particularly difficult time for our homeland, including the promotion of education, culture and our historical path and, ultimately, by bringing out our traditional virtues,” Pavlopoulos said in his message to Greek expats.
