PM Tsipras: “We will implement the memorandum” despite any reactions

Aiming to avoid any further discussions on Grexit he said that "it is not the time for various 'exits', but it is a time for more Europe"

Speaking at a panel on “The future of Europe” at World Economic Forum, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras sent a message to Greece’s lenders that the country will complete the implementation of the memorandum signed last summer.

Asked on the participation of IMF in the Greek program, Mr. Tsipras said “We are doing what we can in order to progress quickly and smoothly with the implementation of the agreement,” expressing the hope any disagreements and different views that occasionally arose between the three institutions would not be the cause of further delays.

Regarding economy issues, Mr. Tsipras stressed the need for structural reforms which would be important for Greece calling also for European and private investments. He also added that what Greece should do is to put forward the development agenda.

Aiming to avoid any further discussions on Grexit he said that “This is not the time for various ‘exits’, whether these concern ‘Grexit’ or ‘Brexit’, or for divisions, or walls, or differentiations,” adding “It is a time for more Europe: Common rules, deepening democracy, strengthening solidarity, an increased European budget in order to restrict inequalities, banking union with a European system for guaranteeing deposits,”.
