Tension escalates on Kos Island due to hotspot construction

The island's mayor calls the government to withdraw the police forces guarding the military camp

In an effort to de-escalate the tension between the residents of the island of Kos and the government on the construction of the hotspot, the island’s mayor, Giorgos Kyritsis, sent a letter to Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras asking him to withdraw the police forces.

Mr. Kyritsis calls the government to withdraw the police forces guarding the military camp where a hotspot is being constructed so as to de-escalate the situation.
