He said that over the next month about 50,000-70,000 people will get stuck in Greece

Newsroom February 28 01:30

Alternate Minister of Migration Yannis Mouzalas revealed on Sunday morning that the Greek government submitted an emergency plan to the European Union to deal with the refugee flow.

“Unfortunately, the plan must be implemented” he said adding that the government has specified the staff, money and items that will be needed, while stressing that about 22,000 refugees and immigrants are already trapped in Greece.

Although he denied that there is a plan for 120 camps across the country, he said that “there will be four reception centers in Macedonia region and the rest of them will be set up along Athens-Thessaloniki axis”.

“For a short time, the centers might be set up in warehouses but this is what happens all over the world, until the proper facilities are constructed,” he said adding that “these are emergency areas. People should not be afraid that the refugees and immigrants are going to stay there permanently”.

Moreover, he told MEGA TV channel that over the next month about 50,000-70,000 people will get stuck in Greece.
