Crete is the most popular destination whereas the majority of tourists prefer the region of Chania

Newsroom July 4 11:56

A recent research by trivago.gr showed the most popular summer destinations for Greeks for 2014 as well as the number of days they plan to spend on their holidays.

Regarding the Greek islands, Crete is the most popular destination whereas the majority of tourists prefer the region of Chania. The island of Skiathos, located northwest in the Aegean Sea, comes second.

Those who prefer, though, to travel abroad choose Rome (16%) while Istanbul comes second in their choices.

According to the data, Greeks will spend 8.14 days which is lower than the average of 8.92 days. Russians and Dutch are those who spend most days, 10.76 days and 9.61 days respectively.
