A father opened fire at a suburban Texas home killing four of his children as well as two adults who were with them. His fifth child, 15-year-old daughter, is in critical condition at the hospital.
The teenager was able to call police and warned that her father planned to go to her grandparents’ home to kill them.
Killed were two boys, ages four and 14; two girls, ages seven and nine, a 39-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, who were watching the children.
The suspected gunman eventually surrendered after a three-hour chase, whereas the local serif described him as “cool as a cucumber”.
When police first approached, the man was ‘just sitting in his car looking out at them’. He threatened to shoot himself, but at the end he surrendered. The reason of his action is still unknown.
