Greece and Cyprus among best place to live in the world climate-wise

Negative aspect of Greece is economic and political uncertainty

Newsroom August 10 01:18

Members of the online ‘expat InterNations’ community ranked Greece and Cyprus among the top 10 places with the best climate and sunny weather they would choose to move to, in a 2016 poll. The survey asked 14,000 people living in 195 countries with Costa Rica coming in first as the country with the best climate, followed by Cyprus and Greece. 45% of the British expats said climatic conditions were an important factor for relocating to another country, a percentage 16% higher than the global average. The Swiss (41%), Irish (39%) and Belgians (38%) also considered weather as a telling factor in moving to a country. InterNations CEO Malte Zeeck pointed out that some nationalities rank weather and the climate as more important than job prospects, security or other factors. 76% of those polled said Greece had a great climate, 53 points above the world average, while 38% said entertainment prospects were also good in Greece. On the downside, 39% said financial conditions and political stability in Greece were bad. For Cyprus 69% said the weather conditions were good, while personal safety was high also. The worst countries in terms of weather were Belgium, Ireland, Kuwait,, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Britain.
