According to the findings from the monitoring conducted by the SSM and the BoG, loans at Attica Bank had been issued without any adherence to any banking criterion, like in the case of the businessman Yannis Kalogritsas. The findings show that on the 27th of June 2016 the contractor received from Attica Bank 15 million Euros, that were transferred to him in illegal ways, via two of his companies which have played a key role for his participation in the TV licence tender procedure.
Another 7,6 millions were received as a loan to him in the first months of the year.
The total amount of money that Kalogritsas has taken from Attica Bank is 127,6 million Euros, from which the 77,6 millions were given to him after SYRIZA first won the Greek elections in 2015.
According to the prosecutor’s findings from the inspection of Attica Bank that the Bank of Greece conducted jointly with the European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism in order for accountability of the lender’s former managers to be established, the 15 millions that he took at the end of June were used in illegal ways, in order for him to participate in the TV licenses procedure for the bank and the borrower as well.
