A Christmas spectacle in the Sahara desert! A desert dressed in white is certainly not the sight we are used to. However, this is exactly what happened yesterday. According to the Daily Mail, it has happened twice, both times in the same village, Ain Sefra in Algeria. The last time was on October 18th 1979 and it lasted for an hour.
Karim Bouchetata took the photos. He later stated to the Daily Mail that “Everyone was stunned to see snow falling in the dessert, it is such a rare occurrence. It looked amazing as the snow settled on the sand and made a great set of photos.”
