The head of the EuroGroup, Jeroen Dijsselbloem is expected to call an extra-ordinary meeting of the EC Finance Ministers on Wednesday via teleconference, after Tuesday’s EuroWorking Group (EWG) meeting on the review of the Greek PM Alexis Tsipras’s provisions failed to produce any results. The initiative comes after the German Finance Ministry expressed its reservations on the prospect of the matter being resolved via a signed letter by Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos. Deliberations between the two sides are underway at a lower level of the EWG with Greek sources neither denying nor confirming reports that the EU has requested a written letter by Mr. Takalotos, adding however, that he is expected to send such a letter if it is deemed necessary.
