Details of the arrest of Nikos Maziotis were given formally, during a press conference, by the Hellenic Police.

The Chief of Police, Dimitris Tsaknakis stated that the terrorist fired eight bullets into the crowd, regardless of whether he was going to injure any passers-by.

On their part, Police fired one shot and hit the terrorist fugitive.
