Masked youth throw petrol bombs at Greek Parliament (photos-videos)

Attack happened during student protest

Newsroom March 6 03:37

A group of youth threw petrol bombs against the building of the Greek parliament during the student march at Syntagma Square in downtown Athens, Monday. While a protest of about 400 students was underway in front of parliament, a small group of masked youth broke off from the main body of the protesters and started hurling molotov bombs in Parliament courtyard. The perpetrators charged the left side of the monument of the Unknown Soldiers and threw 4 to 5 petrol bombs. At the time the area was unprotected by any police officers giving the perpetrators time to flee. Students were protesting against the merging of schools and the scrapping of courses, which would result in lost jobs for teachers.
