Manchester airport in Britain was in a state of alert on Tuesday afternoon as two aircrafts of the British Air Force (RAF) have escorted down an airliner, after reports of a suspicious “device” on board.
According to the British media, the pilot of the airliner received information about a possible device on board and notified the authorities.
According to an announcement by Qatar Airways, the Airbus 330 was carrying 269 passengers and 13 crew members. After its landing, the aircraft was moved to a special area and the airport operation resumed.
A Twitter user uploaded a photo that shows a person being escorted by police officers off the plane. Manchester Police announced a few minutes later that they have arrested a man on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat.
