Ernesto Valverde returned to a familiar for him stadium, Karaiskakis, for the friendly match between Olympiacos and his team, Athletic Bilbao. Even though he came as an opponent, Olympiacos fans cheered for him chanting his name while entering the stadium, as they used to do some years ago.

Vangelis Marinakis, the president of Olympiacos footbal club, honored him with a silver platter, a framed jersey signed by all the players and a shirt saying “Olympiacos for Life”.

Valverde thanked everyone emotionally touched by this friendly welcome and the award.
