Police in North Carolina have arrested Janie Talley accused of helping her 16-year-old son record a video for Facebook where he set himself on fire.

The teenager attempted to perform the “fire challenge”, a new trend on social media, according to which teenagers set themselves on fire and then they are trying to put it out!

The 41-year-old woman, who was present during the incident, is accused by the authorities not only for not preventing her son to set himself on fire, but for recording the incident.

The boy sustained minor burns on his chest and neck, as he did not manage to put the fire out quickly.
