After the collapse of the new agreement to extend the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, official Palestinian Fatah sources argues that Qatar sabotages peace in the region.
According to official statements in Arab-speaking Al-Hayat newspaper, Qatar threatened Islamist Hamas with expulsion, who has been living in the emirate in the last years.
It supports the statements that if Hamas gave the green light to extend the ceasefire then the leader would have been threatened with deportation.
All this while the emirate wants to play an active role in the peace talks and shows its support for Hamas.
Indeed as a Fatah officials suggested, Hamas insists that the Foreign Minister of Qatar should sit on the Cairo table, or the head of the secret service, something which is rejected by Egypt.
