Two Greek brothers win at European Business Awards

GREEN SA and ANTIPOLLUTION SA are national champions in excellence

Newsroom September 11 12:00

The European Business Awards 2014-2015 – an independent awards program sponsored by RSM international – were carried out for the 8th year. The goal of the awards is to recognize and promote excellence, best practice and innovation in the European Business community. The national category for Greece saw awards going to two businesses owned by brothers Byron and Phillip Vassiliades.

ANTIPOLLUTION SA was declared national champion, and in the category “The Business of the Year with turnover €0-25m” and GREEN SA was named National Champion in the category, “The Business of the Year with Turnover € 26-150m”.

Byron Vassiliades on ANTIPOLLUTION SA:

Antipollution is the leading Greek Company in the field of Port Reception Facilities, on Solid Ship-Generated Waste management. At present, we provide services on a 24/7 basis in all major Greek ports.

Our company was founded in its present form by the descendants of the first people to operate in Piraeus Port, receiving and handling waste from ships in the 1940s. Ever since, we are on constant expansion course, acquiring modern equipment and providing our services in numerous Greek ports.

However, Antipollution’s vantage lies on the experience acquired in past decades and deep knowledge of both environmental and maritime regulations. Putting constantly hard effort to improve the services rendered, the company, as an active member of Euroshore, the Association of Port Reception Facilities in Europe and beyond, is able to transfer the experience of fellow members into Greek market.

Following closely all the new practices currently implemented in the European Union, according MARPOL Convention 79/78, Antipollution understands the importance attributed to recycling, valorization and alternative management of waste nowadays.

Byron Vassiliades on GREEN SA:

Since 2009, the very beginning of the company’s operation in Greece, our aim was to create an exemplary energy trading organization, by establishing a clear definition of what it means to succeed. From that very moment we are engaged in providing high quality services by international standards and in achieving positions of financial prosperity and market leadership

After the liberalization of the electricity market in Greece, following the enactment of Law 2773/1999, we have focused on a clear vision: to renew our promise of business as proposal of innovation, satisfaction and progress and become the preferred energy network not only in Greece, but also beyond borders.
