Swedish far-right seems poised to come third (see sexist campaign video)

The Swedish Democrats look as though they may come third in Sunday's elections despite racist scandals and sexist campaigning

Newsroom September 12 11:51

Swedish polls before a parliamentary election on Sunday show that neither the left nor the right-wing factions will secure an absolute majority. That, however, is not to say that the far-right isn’t set for huge gains  as the Swedish Democrats leader Jimmie Aakesson is vying for the position of the third-largest political force in the nations that was once considered the quintessential welfare state.

The Swedish Democrats want to overhaul the country’s refugee policies, viewed as one of the most generous in the world that grant automatic residency to all refugees fleeing the Syria conflict. It is so generous that 80,000 refugees are expected to apply for asylum this year alone.

Despite racist scandals that forced a number of candidates to step down, the party’s support has doubled since it first entered parliament in 2010 and currently stands at 10% that would give it the power to block laws.

Here’s the video of their highly sexist campaign using young Swedish bombshells –

THIS MONTH’S SCANDALS

* Leaked footage published on the site of Aftonbladet newspaper showed Swedish Democrats driving around Gothenburg secretly filming foreigners. “Look, I got a nigger,” one of them says. Another uses the words “Somali bitches”. One of the three people in the car was Lund’s party chairman Hans-Olof Andersson.
