The purpose of the meeting was the 131 million euro loan of the Municipality of Piraeus to the Deposits and Loans Fund, as due to the  very difficult economic situation of our country, the municipality requires finding new viable solutions.

From their side the administration of the Fund welcomed the intentions of the mayor to resolve the issue.

In this context, the Municipality of Piraeus will officially submit shortly its proposal to the Board of Deposits and Loans Fund.

After the meeting the mayor of Piraeus Mr. Yannis Moralis stated: ” The new municipality aims to find a viable solution of its past debts, which make a heavy burden for both the municipality and its citizens. All of our efforts have as main target the economic remediation and ensure the further development perspectives of Piraeus .”
