A few hours after the final result of the referendum, Queen Elizabeth sent a unifying message to the British, that ” Any result shall be respected”, while she urged them to harness their feelings and promised to do her best for the common good of Great Britain.
Looking forward on the next day, as her position as the head of the British state expects, the Queen invites all residents of the “Big Island” to remember that “despite the different opinions expressed, we have a common love for Scotland which is one of the things that keeps us united. ”
Further, she adds that:” “Knowing the people of Scotland, i have no doubt that like everyone else in the United Kingdom, they are able to express their opinions and then to walk together in a spirit of mutual respect and support in order to work constructively for the future of Scotland as well as all other parts of the country “.
Queen Elizabeth concludes her message by saying that :” My family and I, promise to do everything within our power to help you in this of great importance mission”.
