Filothei remembers her life with the late Antonis Vardis (see photos)

The great singer's widow is 'lost' without him

Newsroom September 22 10:40

Filothei-Maria Vardi says that half her life has gone following the death of legendary Greek singer Antonis Vardis. Though the couple got married two years ago, they were together for many years.

“He wasn’t just Antonis, the talent that everybody knows, admires, loves, respects. He wasn’t just my entire life, my husband, my person, my breath, my other half. He wasn’t just the amazing father to his children. He wasn’t just more or less the person we all know,” she says. “He was really a person full of feeling. Do you know that he couldn’t stand seeing someone suffer? Do you know what it means to stop and talk to vulnerable people, to give them food, to be present when they needed him. It’s not easy meeting people like that nowadays, my entire life was Antonis.”
