It’s official! George Clooney, the most eligible bachelor in Hollywood, married his beloved Amal Alamuddin yesterday evening.

The couple exchanged vows of eternal love and devotion in an intimate ceremony held at the 7-star Aman Canal Grande luxury resort in Venice, Italy, as was confirmed by the actor’s rep in a statement.

The much-anticipated wedding followed a series of celebratory events which started on Friday. According to Daily Mail, shortly before taking the plunge, the handsome Hollywood actor enjoyed a couple of drinks with his friends in the luxury resort, in a kind of last-minute bachelor party.

Although the photos of the bride have not been released yet, according to foreign media, the beautiful brunette lawyer opted for a satin Stella McCartney gown.

Hundreds of paparazzi were waiting yesterday around Venice canals to get a shot of the handsome groom in his wedding tuxedo and his celebrity friends on their way to the ceremony. Among the guests were Bill Murray, Cindy Crawford and her husband, Clooney’s best man, Matt Damon, Bono of U2 and many other stars.
