American comedian and singer Bette Midler was spotted in Heraklion, Crete enjoying a few moments of relaxation last Wednesday.

The 76-year-old Hollywood star had a meal at a restaurant in the city centre.

Keeping a very low profile, Midler visited the archaeological site of Knossos and the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, before going for lunch with her husband and two of his colleagues at a well-known restaurant in the city, causing quite a stir as many passers-by recognised her.

According to Neakriti’s site, the Hollywood star ordered quite a rich meal with fresh fish and shellfish, while for the wine she chose Spina Moscato from a Cretan vineyard.

She reportedly absolutely loved the fresh fish from the Cretan seas, cuttlefish risotto, grilled squid, and open sea fish fricassee, while the star finished her meal with a classical dessert politiko halva (semolina) with ice cream while ended the meal with the mastic liqueur of Chios.

According to the publication, the Hollywood actress allegedly left a €30 tip to the waiters. The meal cost around €200.

However, Bette Midler refused to take photos with the tourists who recognised her wanting to keep her presence in Heraklion as quiet as possible.
