Police makes 24 arrests in coordinated operation in Central Greece

2.260 people and 1.711 vehicles in total were checked by the Police, while 153 people were brought in - a total of 512 breaches of the Highway Code have been confirmed and 24 arrests were made

The last two days a coordinated police operation took place in Central Greece.
Specifically, the operation aimed on prevention of road accidents, strengthening traffic-police measures, confirmation dangerous traffic offenses and general upgrading the level of road safety.
Further, a great emphasis was given in the prosecution of illegal immigration, as well as on carrying out systematic checks on sanitary facilities for the implementation of the existing legislation.
According to the business activity, the results have as follows:

2.260 people were checked in total: Of them 1.792 Greeks and 468 Foreigners.
1.711 Vehicles were checked.
153 were brought to the police department, of which 112 of Greek origin and the remaining 41 of foreign.
In total 24 people were arrested, 13 Greeks and 11 of other origin.
Further, the police seized various kinds of illegal trade and confirmed a total of 522 offenses.
Similar police operational will continue with undiminished interest in all areas of the Region of Central Greece.
